Since 1949, several years after they were established in Asakusa, baker Pelican has offered only three kinds of plain breads, which are loaf of breads, bread rolls, and buns, even now hundreds of variety of breads/pastries are available anywhere. The owner Watanabe-san says the reason for that in their official page as "If we have a power of ten, we concentrate to make the one, instead of making a hundred. In this way, I think we can get the best of our power."
If you are a bread-lover and have a plan to go there, making an early visit is highly recommended as people always line up and Pelican is closed when the stocks run out.
